So my friends Kristin from Kristin's kNook and Chantal from Scattered Seashells decided to host a Skirtember challenge. The idea is to wear a skirt or dress every day in the month of September. Today is the first link up. So let me share my outfits from September 1st-September 8th.
Day 1- September 1st
The good news is that the first day of Skirtember was a Sunday. It was easy to throw on a dress and head off to church. :)
Dress: Maurice's // Belt: Old Navy // "Twist & Turn" Earrings & "Where is Elvis?" Bracelet: Penelope Ann // Shoes: Payless |
It was my birthday, and it was warm. I was going to a Labor Day picnic/birthday celebration with my family. So I opted for a comfy, casual look.
"Tami" Tank Tops & Skirt: Old Navy // "Let's Dance" Necklace & "Round the World" Earrings: Penelope Ann // Shoes: Shoedazzle.com |
Day 3- September 3rd
Back to school again. My classroom is super cold, and I decided to keep warm but still be somewhat summery.
Entire outfit: Old Navy (You can't see them, but there are green ON flip flops on my feet.) |
I was STILL cold in the previous outfit, so I did something drastic:
Dress: Maurice's // Leggings: Old Navy // Boots: Target.com |
I got out my leggings and my new boots. I ended up throwing a jean jacket on with this. It looked totally adorable. :) This was my second favorite outfit of the week!
Day 5- September 5th
I was at school ALL. DAY. It was our Open House on Thursday. So I needed to look nice for parents. Since I live about 30 minutes from work, I don't get to leave on days like this because our Open House is from 6-8 PM. It wouldn't make sense for me to drive all the way home and come back. PLUS, we had to stay after for an extra hour any way to analyze data. So that would have been impossible anyway. Luckily, we also do a meet and greet with the school board on this day, and so they fed us pizza.
ANYWAY, even though I used some Dr. Scholl's ball of foot insoles and my feet were STILL killing me by the end of the day, this was definitely my most favorite outfit so far!
Blazer & Dress: Maurice's // Boots: Shoedazzle.com // "Twist & Turn" Earrings & "Celebrity Smiles" Ring Penelope Ann |
Ok, people, I didn't wear a skirt or dress either of these days. Here's why: Fridays are dress down days at work. I have to pay $5 for the privilege to wear jeans to work for the month. I'm not giving that up.
On Saturday, I went to a pig roast with some friends. It really wasn't extremely warm, and I wasn't about to wear a dress or skirt to sit outside all day. So it was jeans again.
Though I don't have pictures, I will, in my own defense, let you know that both of those outfits were pretty cute, too...thanks to Maurice's!
Day 8- September 8th
I didn't go to church on Sunday because I had so much to do since I was gone on Saturday. I didn't want to skip another day, but I had a couple of problems: 1. I had a TON of laundry and other things to get done around the house. 2. It was Steelers football day. This is what I did:
I almost cut my head out of this because I'm wearing glasses, no make up, and my hair is a disaster. I don't even remember where I found this Steelers shirt, and that skirt is so old, I can't even remember where I got it. BUT it does have shorts underneath. So technically, it is a "skort". But you wouldn't have known that if I hadn't told you, so it totally counts because it looks like a skirt the whole way around.
So there you have it. I think I'm doing pretty well so far. I'm going to have to get creative for the coming week, though. My classroom is still freezing, and I'm going to need to find ways besides boots and leggings to be warm.

I love day 4 and 5 outfits!!
Thank you! :)
Love it! Thanks for participating so far!!
I admire your dedication!
I skipped Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Can't win them all!
I love the pink Old Navy Skirt!
Happy belated birthday! I love the colorful pink and purple outfit! It's fun challenging ourselves to wear dresses and be creative with getting dressed!
There's no way I could do this. I think I own three skirts.
Haha! You would have to get REALLY creative! :)
Wait...$5 to wear jeans? Huh? Where does the money go? We are a very casual staff... you will find about half of us wearing jeans everyday. No joke.
What a fun idea to wear a skirt every day!!! Why on earth do you have to pay $5 for casual Friday?
