On Monday, Scott and I finally gave up on the excuses and joined a gym. We have a Planet Fitness in the next town over, and you really can't beat the prices.
Scott came home from work that morning at 7 AM, and asked me if I wanted to go then....uh...no. I am not at all a morning person, and I am definitely not a morning person during summer! Instead, he had me wake him up at 2, and we headed out then. By 2, I was ready to go, and actually looking forward to going.

Not only am I not a morning person, but if I work out after work, to me, it's just extending my work day. I'm already up. I'm already moving. It's easier to keep the momentum going than to GET it going.

I follow the class schedule. Right now, I'm going to a couple of classes a week (Kettlebell and Pilates) and those start at 10am. Once school starts, I'll go to an evening class once or twice a week right after school. The gym (on base, $3 a class) is 10 minutes from school, so it'll be convenient to stop on the way home. Classes are at 4:30 or 5. In Alaska (how I miss that gym!) the classes were at 5:30 and that was all kinds of perfect for me.
Once in a while, I'd go before work in Alaska to a spin class but those started at 5:15am and, while it was doable, the gym was only 10 minutes away so I could make it work. Here, the gym is 30 minutes away so no extra trips.
Obviously, I have a lot to say on this subject because I've rehashed this problem inside and out over the last few years lol.
